They are currently looking for an experienced professional to lead fund accounting and compliance. The individual will be overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate Net Assets Values, and reconciling accounts. It includes collaborating with auditors, assisting investors, and managing compliance filings. Additionally, responsibilities extend to due diligence reviews, new deal approvals, SEBI reporting, anti-money laundering due diligence, and representing the company in regulatory meetings. The role covers a wide spectrum, including risk assessments, compliance policies, and ad-hoc projects.
Responsibilities
Fund Accounting
- Supervising and managing daily and monthly accounting operations of the investee portfolios.
- Preparing timely and accurate Net Assets Values, yields, distributions and other fund accounting output for subsequent review.
- Reconciling various accounts, or reviewing reconciliations prepared by others, and promptly researching and correcting any variances.
- Identifying exceptions and problems affecting accounting records and prices, communicating the same to the management, and assisting in their resolution.
- Writing periodic reports to the management on fund activities and other related issues.
- Applying technical expertise in fund accounting to set delivery standards.
- Implementing practices and procedures for reviewing and verifying accounting reports, their supporting documents, and reporting formats to ensure completeness of input data.
- Communicating with fund auditors to resolve accounting questions and to prepare draft audited financial statements.
- Helping investors for analytical reports including breakout and portfolio data.
- Reviewing fund formation and offering documents paying special attention to the accounting provisions to identify and communicate any suggested changes and verifying accounting methodology disclosed or utilized for expense booking at both the fund and investor levels for all kinds of fund structures.
- Reviewing compliance and regulatory filings (NFA CPO PQR, SEC Form PF filings, FATCA/CRS) on quarterly and annual basis.
Compliance
- Overseeing and managing initial due diligence review of prospective transactions.
- Performing and administering the approval process for acceptance and risk rating of new deals.
- Assisting in overseeing investor onboarding and participating in escalation discussions regarding investors flagged for compliance issues, including those with positive matches to sanctions or other lists.
- SEBI reporting and compliances.
- Advising on anti-money laundering due diligence and sanction checks on client and investor files to compliance and legal teams.
- Representing the company in meetings with regulators and governmental agencies.
- Coordinating internally with staff in connection with examinations and inquiries by regulators and government agencies to ensure timely and accurate responses.
- Coordinating remediation efforts, as needed, resulting from internal audit or examination findings.
- Reviewing documents for investment risk ratings or sanctions monitoring, where applicable.
- Monitoring the implementation of various compliance policies and procedures and conducting periodic compliance assurance review.
- Actively assisting in maintaining compliance policies and procedures, including participating in performing annual reviews thereon.
- Conducting risk assessments.
- Preparing and reviewing investor and board reporting.
- Assisting with any ad-hoc projects as required.
Requirement
- Minimum 5 years of ‘fund accounting’ experience with funds or leading service providers/investment banks/audit firms.
- CA/CFA/MBA Finance.
- The individual must be efficient and well organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Must be able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
