They are currently looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Procurement and Quantity Surveying to lead their procurement efforts and oversee quantity surveying activities within the company. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in procurement and quantity surveying, with the ability to optimize processes, manage vendor relationships, and ensure cost-effective project execution.
Responsibilities
Procurement Leadership:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to source materials, equipment and services efficiently.
- Lead the procurement team in negotiating contracts, terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and establish vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Quantity Surveying (QS) Management:
- Oversee quantity surveying activities, including accurate measurement of quantities, preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQ), and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project teams to manage variations, changes, and cost control effectively.
- Ensure the accurate valuation of work completed on projects and certify payments accordingly.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and vendors.
- Evaluate vendor performance, resolve issues and implement improvement plans.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements that protect the company’s interests.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor project budgets and financial performance.
- Analyse cost trends, variances and deviations from project plans.
- Collaborate with project managers to identify and address cost-related issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive records of procurement and quantity surveying activities.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement status, project costs and financial analysis.
- Provide senior management with strategic insights and recommendations.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train and develop a high-performing procurement and quantity surveying team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, or a related field (Master degree preferred).
- Proven experience in procurement and quantity surveying within the construction and design industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, quantity surveying techniques, and cost control.
- Exceptional negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with construction software and tools.
